Way to go Slack
Lowdope   Track Title: Lowdope

Date: 09-07-2005
Genre: Electronica Funk
So I went out tonight and got a bit of a late start on production, but I'm very pleased with the track. Instant Slack played at Heart Five in Tucson, and I'm glad to have seen them. After all, they used to be my roomates. Good Job Guys!

Kerouac   Track Title: Kerouac

Date: 09-06-2005
Genre: Breakbeat
This friday I'm picking up that new mlan16e card from Guitar Center. I am simply beaming with excitement. Anyhow, the new track definitely has some drum n' bass influences; at least in the first part. Then it switches to more funky breakbeat. I used some hippo sounds and other various animal noises in post-production. You have absolutely no idea how hard it was for me to hold back using Madonna in this track. I have lots of her acapellas and for some reason they seemed to fit really well. I think she would get hella pissed at me though. ;)

UPDATE: Did you know that the smoking gun just released jack kerouac's military record?

Dead People Electronica
Miss You Forever   Track Title: Miss You Forever

Date: 09-05-2005
Genre: Techno
So I went to the pistol range for a while today, that was fun. Then I came back and made this track. It's some of the better vocal manipulation I think I've done. I also was able to utilize some plugins to circumvent mastering issues. I just uploaded newly mastered versions of Celly, Jarvex, Gland, and Digital Whores. I think they were good enough to spend the time re-mastering.

Are you an Interloper?
Interloper   Track Title: Interloper

Date: 09-04-2005
Genre: Breakbeat
Well, I had a lot of fun with this one. Especially in the sampling. I suppose this is some of the best work I've done thus far. Any hoes in the house jumping around?

Time to get hot baby!
Digital Whores   Track Title: Digital Whores

Date: 09-03-2005
Genre: Electronica Funk
You will hear beautiful, dripping wet digital whores get it on for the first time in this fine addition to the Cho collection.

Nothing turns me on like a girl with good resonance filters.

Hip-Hop feat. Clay Steele!
Gland   Track Title: Gland

Date: 09-02-2005
Genre: Electronica Hip Hop
I got quite blitzed at Che's lounge and wrote this wonderful track with Clay. Looks like we'll be doing a lot more of this in the future.

What I'd really like to do is a follow-up with my buddy Sean rapping on this one.

Such good feedback
Jarvex   Track Title: Jarvex

Date: 09-01-2005
Genre: Breakbeat
OK, and I quote:

"the beginning sounds like you're about to see a soap opera.. but it's made up for once you realize the tune isn't all about being gay" -- John

Thanks John!
Werd to the SGR fanbase

PS- Did you know Jarvex was actually a James Bond character?

Celly   Track Title: Celly

Date: 08-31-2005
Genre: Electronica Funk
Depressing at first, but this is no dismal approach... this track gets all "hi...! I'm funky techno" on your ass. Named celly because that's what I was answering non-stop throughout production. Gotta hate interruptions!

Yell loudly at the cops in your town!
Begerf   Track Title: Begerf

Date: 08-30-2005
Genre: Electronica Funk
I have this friend named "Red". He is really funny when he gets drunk because he yells "Begerf" really loudly at unsuspecting victims. When the syncopation hits on this track, it reminds me of the sound he makes. Oh bother, I had to name it that.

Mastering is a learning curve
Jioooooooooolo   Track Title: Jioooooooooolo

Date: 08-29-2005
Genre: Electronica Funk
Track is free of glitches. Track is funky as hell. I am still however, completely dissatisfied with the volume of the mastering. This problem occurs (I believe) because of the transition between Analog/ Digital. I currently use this Roland VS-890 piece of shit to master my tracks. It master them at -4db ... and that's just too low. Since I export the audio as an interleaved mix and bring it into cubase from there, I really can't master it any higher or it will peak the mix.

Anyhow, a couple more weeks of this crap and then I'll be purchasing an mlan16e firewire. Since this takes the analog conversion out of the picture, all tracks from that point on should be mastered proper. (I hope)
